Happy 71st Anniversary Izzy and Joe

Swiftwater, Columbia County Izzy and Joe Shuman got married 71 years ago today.
The young couple eloped on February 1st, 1942. They had a nice dinner then went their separate ways and returned to their parents homes.
They kept their marriage a secret until November of 1942. Shortly before Joe was deployed overseas in World War Two.
Today, the Shumans renewed their wedding vows with all their family to share their day.
"I'll never forget this day, as long as I live. With my family here, and all these people from Bonham's. They've been so good to us, we couldn't ask for anything better." said Izzy
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Bonham Nursing and Rehab Center, where Izzy and Joe now live.
