WB Chamber Names Frank Joanlanne as Chairman

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Frank Joanlanne, President and Chairman of the Board of Borton-Lawson, has been elected Chairman of the Board of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry.

Mr. Joanlanne has resided in North Eastern Pennsylvania for the past 10 years. Prior to joining Borton-Lawson he served as Senior Vice President at Frontier Communication responsible for Pennsylvania operations, Senior Vice President of Penn Millers where he served as President of Penn Software and Technology Services, and as Senior Vice President of Eastern Insurance Group.

A leader in the local community, Mr. Joanlanne has served as Vice Chairman of the Institute of Public Policy and Economic Development, 2012 Campaign Chair and Director of the United Way of Wyoming Valley, Director of Northeast Pennsylvania Technology Institute, Director of The Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Governor of the Westmoreland Club, and Director of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA.

"I am grateful for this opportunity to represent the business community as the Board Chairman of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business Industry and I am looking forward to working with our staff and Board to continue to build success for businesses and for our community."

Prior to moving to the Wilkes-Barre area, Mr. Joanlanne lived in New York City where he graduated from New York University's Stern School of Business with degrees in Economics, International Business, and Foreign languages. He started his career on Wall Street managing international bond sales and trading operations for banks including Chase/ JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Credit Agricole.

Frank Joanlanne currently resides in Dallas, PA with his wife Allison and three daughters; Alyssa, Nathalie, and Nicole.

Serving alongside Joanlanne is Troy Standish of Sallie Mae who will be serving as First Chairman of the Board. Other new Board members elected in 2013 include Michael Barrouk, First Citizens National Bank; Michael Bean, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs; Robert Bee, Nexstar Broadcasting/WBRE; Don Brominski, UGI; Michael Jones, GSI Commerce, and Paul Quick, Frontier Communications.

The Chamber of Business and Industry would like to thank retiring Board members Janine Becker, Wilkes University; Steven Roth, Rosenn Jenkins & Greenwald; Terry Casey, Chancellor Financial Group; Joe Prociak, Ken Pollock Nissan; Alex Rogers, Bedwick and Jones Printing, and Robert Soper, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry and its affiliated organizations are community, economic development and business service organizations. They are charged with the mission of collaborating with community and regional partners to create quality employment and business opportunities and improve the area's quality of life through strategic planning, programs and investments in our community.
