Middletown - Two jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 tickets were recently sold in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

A Cash 5 ticket worth $700,000 from the Jan. 25 drawing was sold at Turkey Hill, 1370 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, Luzerne County. It correctly matched all five balls, 01-14-23-30-34, to win a jackpot of $700,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. On Jan. 7, this same Turkey Hill store sold a Cash 5 winning ticket worth $1 million.

A Cash 5 ticket worth $225,000 from the Jan. 27 drawing was sold at Weis Markets, 695 N. Courtland St., East Stroudsburg, Monroe County. It correctly matched all five balls, 02-12-24-34-40, to win a jackpot of $225,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. Weis Markets will receive a $500 selling bonus.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identities of the winners until the prizes are claimed and the tickets are validated. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.

Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices.

In fiscal year 2011-12, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded a total of more than $139 million in prizes to winners in Luzerne and Monroe counties. The Lottery also contributed more than $45.9 million to programs that benefited older residents of those counties.
