Delaware Water Gap-Monique Bullan left her real estate job in New York City a few hours early Friday.
"To get home before there's any kind of accidents where the whole 80 is just tied up." said Monique Bullan of East Stroudsburg

She told us heavy snow was falling by three in the afternoon.

"It looks pretty good here but coming through Jersey it's a big mess." said Bullen

Monique was able to catch one of Martz Trailways special runs out of the city.
The bus company added several trips for commuters who didn't want to get stuck at work.

"Very happy because usually everybody flocks to the 1 o'clock bus so when I saw the 12:30 come on I was like I gotta get that one."

But for safety reasons - Martz also had to cut many runs.
The last bus left the Delaware Water gap at two-twenty. Instead of the usual nine-thirty.
And the last bus out of New York will leave at 6:30 tonight. Instead of the usual 12:30 in the morning.

Tom Boneta works for Martz. He keeps sidewalks and walkways clear.
He said he talked to many commuters who had to make adjustments - including some who got home, and had to take the last bus back into the city just a few hours later.
"The commuters they would do that cause they don't want to miss a day of work, so they'll go back out." said Boneta

A Martz spokesperson said schedule changes were necessary to make sure buses are not out during the most dangerous times.
