Scranton Police Officer to Enter Retail Theft Program

Scranton, Lackawanna County - A Scranton police officer, who was cited for theft, will enter a retail theft program.

According to the South Scranton magistrate's office, Derek Anderson faced a summary trial Thursday afternoon.

Detectives cited Anderson for allegedly stealing meats and cheese from a Gerrity's supermarket on three different occassions.

The total value of the stolen food was nearly $60.00.

The retail theft program is held at the University of Scranton and is designed for first-time offenders.
